Malcolm X

Malcolm X rose from a childhood of poverty and a prison sentence to become one of the most powerful voices for Black liberation of the twentieth century. As a minister of the Nation of Islam and later as an independent leader, he pressed for self-determination, dignity, and, after his pilgrimage to Mecca, a broader pan-African human-rights vision. His "Autobiography," completed with Alex Haley, remains one of the essential American memoirs.

“Education is the passport to the future.”
